Hey FG Fam,

I hope that you all are enjoying the fantastic cool weather this week! This Sunday is exciting because we will have communion, and Phil Adams will be joining us again to give a message on Acts 15:36-41. This passage looks into the personal disagreements between the Apostle Paul and Barnabas that lead them to part ways while also diving into their ultimate agreement to proclaim the Gospel to the nations.

One way that we get to proclaim the Gospel to others is through public worship in public spaces. This upcoming Sunday, July 18th, we will have a Park-wide Baptism Service on Montrose Beach. We will not be having the 9 AM or 11 AM services at Park Forest Glen building on July 18th. Our only worship service on July 18th will be at Montrose Beach. Anyone is welcome to come worship with us! Two of our Park Forest Glen members will be getting baptized, so it will be a great support to walk alongside them prayerfully and celebrate their public proclamation of faith in Jesus. The service starts at 10 AM, but the coffee and donuts station opens at 9:30 AM. After the worship service, many of us plan to stay around at the beach. Though we aren’t officially having a Park gathering after the service, feel free to hang out with other Park members and us afterward! Bring lunch for your family and your swimsuits!

Please register for Baptism Class with Pastor Dan as soon as possible if you have decided to also partake in Baptism!

Other Upcoming Events:

(Tomorrow) Saturday, July 10th: Join us this Saturday at 10 AM for a prayer walk! We will be meeting at the tennis courts at Gompers Park (near Keeler and Carmen). Bring the whole family!

Thursday, July 15th: Last Summer Family Night! It will be Olympics-themed with food and snacks! Enjoy some time with other families on the Forest Glen lawn!

July 26-30th: VBS is happening the last week of July! Sign up your kids to learn about God alongside other children. We have fantastic things planned!

Awana will run weekly from September-May 2022, starting on September 9th.

Awana will be held at Park | Forest Glen (4920 W Foster) from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday Nights for your children. Registration is open now!

Hey FG!

Holy Week is an especially cherished time for us as a Church because we remember what Christ has done for us through His death and resurrection.

This week, Park-wide videos are going up daily commemorating the events that happened to Jesus, leading to His resurrection. The Good Friday video will be a great broadcast to tune in to. You can watch it live with all of Park at 6 PM. The broadcast will also be available afterward on our Park Youtube Channel. The Livestream will be posted to our Facebook Page and Facebook Group. We invite you to join us as we remember our Risen Lord and Savior on this day.

Take a glimpse into what this week looked like for Jesus.

Palm Sunday:

Matthew 21:1-11 | Jesus triumphantly enters Jerusalem on a donkey, as prophesied in Zachariah 9:9.

Holy Monday:

Matthew 21:12-19 | Jesus cleanses the temple.

Holy Tuesday:

Matthew 21:23-46 | Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and teaches many things, including signs of His second coming.

Spy Wednesday:

Matthew 26:1-16 | Jesus was anointed with oil during a meal. Judas decides to betray Jesus.

Maundy Thursday:

Matthew 26:20-75 | Jesus washes His disciples' feet and commands them to love and serve one another at the Last Supper. Judas betrays Jesus.

Good Friday:

Matthew 27: 1-61 | Jesus was crucified and died. "It is finished," He said.

Holy Saturday:

Matthew 27:62-66 | Chief priests and Pharisees visit Pontius Pilate to retrieve a guard for Jesus' tomb because they had remembered Jesus' words about rising again in three days.

Resurrection Sunday:

Matthew 28 | He rose again and lives!

Hey FG Family,

I hope that you are enjoying all of the August festivities in Chicago. It's an exciting month because our awesome pastor is back! Dan is returning from his sabbatical and will be preaching on Acts 16:16-24 about the conversion of the slave girl.

This August, other things are our Awana sign-ups, Back to School Drive, and Service Day at FG. For the Back to School Drive, Park Forest Glen is partnering with By the Hand Kids Club to donate supplies to children who need the necessary materials to thrive as they return to school. The hope is for our church to contribute up to 100 backpacks filled with the list of supplies provided by Chicago Public Schools. You can find the supplies list on Facebook and in the church bulletin. The Service Day at FG will be a time of fellowship through tidying up our church facilities through painting, gardening, and organizing.
